Discover Livigno

Livigno it’s a mountain village at 1816mt north of Milano rigth on the Swiss border.

Situated between the Engadine and the Upper Valtellina, Livigno lies in an enchanting valley stretching across 12 km nestled between two mountains ranges that progressively descend from an altitude of 3.000m down to 1.800m. With its unusual shape it is the highest permanent inhabited settlement in Europe, second in the world after Mexico City.

Livigno is a premium-level Alpine ski resort with pist and off-piste options for days. With his high altitude offers runs wide and open, and the snow is generally plentiful and dry, particularly during January and February.

Away from the slopes, the centre of town is a lively, friendly and charming village with characteristic timber and stone buildings and a pedestrian-only shopping avenue with an alpine vibe. There are over hundred modern hotels of all categories and lots of nice chalets and apartments for all types of clients. In true Italian style, food and wine is top quality in Livigno, with hundreds of restaurants, bars and buzzing apreski to choose from, with all the flavours we love about Italy.

Alpine skiers can have fun from the end of November to the beginning of May on modern facilities spreaded across 115 km of perfectly tended slopes and suited to all difficulty levels served by cutting- edge ski lift systems. Snowbordears and freestylers can delight riding the many terrain parks spread all around the resort or have a blast on one of the best snowpark in Europe.

Ski slopes are approachable by walk from any accommodation in the centre of town and in any case a free bus and a well organized taxi service will get you quickly all over the village. Would you like to venture off the piste, ski winding and steep terrain, through gullies or the woods? Whether you want to skin up to the top or enjoy the excitement of an helicopter ride the area around Livigno and the Alta Valtellina valley offers countless ways of fulfilling the expectations of freeride skiing enthusiasts.

Near Livigno we have 3 of the most known ski resorts in Europe which each season host some of the most spectacular races of the World Cup circuit. Would you like to feel the adrenaline you see on TV? St. Moritz, Bormio and S. Caterina can be easily reached in about 1 hour trip.

Livigno is not just alpine skiing but a perfect playground for all sort of snow sports. With 30 km of cross-country slope available already from the end of October it’s one of the top destinations for cross-country skiers.

Fat biking on dedicated trails, ice skating, dog sledding, ice climbing, horse riding, paragliding, snowmobile, quad bike, gokart, ice driving school are all optional apres-ski activities in Livigno.

The faster and most convenient way to get in and out of town is with one of the many Livigno taxis that will take you wherever you want by day and night. Closest airport is Innsbruck (Austria) 185Km, in 3.0hrs of driving you are in resort.

You can olso Zly to Zurich (Suisse) 220km with 3.5hrs taxi journey, or Milano Malpensa (Italy) 250Km within 4.0hrs drive. In any case, Livigno taxis can pick you up at any airport or directly from any other ski resort in the Alps.

On request, helicopter transfers can be arranged to and from Livigno from the major airports, cities and ski resort around the Alps area such as Samedan, Zurich, Innsbruck, Bolzano and from Bergamo Orio al Serio, Linate or Malpensa. Find out all the option at livigno.eu
